Thrilled to see the final commission hanging in the Client’s home. The colours work so well in this space.

Commissioning a painting offers a fantastic opportunity to acquiring a personalised and unique piece of art. This process is not as complicated as you may think and invites you to actively participate in the creation and evolution of a tailor-made piece of artwork. The ownership of a specially commissioned artwork provides a deeply fulfilling and enriching experience, bringing joy to your home or office.

You may have been captivated by a piece at an exhibition that's already been sold, or you harbour a vision for a painting tailored to a specific environment or room, commissioning art allows you to realise your artistic aspirations. The prospect of commissioning art for the first time may seem daunting, but it's also an enjoyable and collaborative venture.

Whether you have a clear vision for your painting or need assistance in refining your ideas, I am here to guide you through the entire process. From discussing your preferences to establishing a brief for your bespoke painting, I will navigate you through both the creative and administrative aspects. This ensures that crucial details, such as size, timelines, and costs, are transparent right from the start.

Artwork in progress The colour palette was adjusted to include colours in the client’s room from indigo blue and pale pink with pops of orange.

“It was an absolute joy to receive our painting yesterday. Throughout the whole process you have been truly wonderful - guiding us (with great patience!) and understanding what we wanted, even in times of our uncertainty. Thank you Sarah for our beautiful artwork - we are thrilled with it!”

Details, mark making and building up layers of acrylic, ink, graphite and pastel at this stage. I use acrylic to create depth through layers. I also work in oil but the process is slightly different and the commission will take longer to allow for drying time.
